COLOUR WORKSHOP´S FOR BABIES

Colour immersion for babies is a painting workshop designed for children under one year of age. The workshop starts with colour observation and different materials and progresses to artworks. The workshop takes place in a safe environment and uses safe materials. Also the babies' older brothers and sisters can participate in the workshop. The idea is to relax together doing pleasant things.

Together with the Pori Centre for Children's Culture, the Pori Art Museum was the first in Finland to start a painting workshop designed specifically for mothers and fathers and their babies. The workshop aims to support the families in their pedagogic efforts using the methods of art education, as well as to extend the existing cooperation network for parents of small babies and to create new forms of operation for the network.

Through the Pori Centre for Children's Culture the workshops have become known also elsewhere in Finland.
